Covering songs by legendary artists like Waylon Jennings, Johnny Cash and Bob Dylan. Payton Williams is available to perform as a solo artist, duo or with his full band;  Payton Williams and The Broken Frets.


Payton Williams grew up in Birmingham, Alabama started singing in church and got his first guitar at age fourteen and never put it down. During his college years at UAB, he started writing songs while playing in multiple bands before venturing out on a solo career. His musical style has been  described "as a sound where country and folk blend together, creating a sonic landscape filled with timeless stories."  Payton’s songwriting influence came from growing up listening to legends like Waylon Jennings, Bob Dylan and The Grateful Dead. Payton  plays live shows multiple times weekly around the Birmingham area as a solo performer and  plays  regularly with his four piece band.


The first two singles from his self-titled album are “Shilo” and “ Forever Ramblin”,  which were released in late 2023, and the rest of the album released as singles by March 2024. Featuring some first call Nashville players like Jamie Rogan, (drummer for Billy Currington) and Bruce Hoffman, a picker known for his work with many  successful country artists, creating a classic Americana sound.
